Professional development funds support participation in activities that aim to enhance teaching and learning. We have a number of funds to support your professional development which reflect the vision, values and priorities of the UVic Strategic Framework.

Teaching-Stream Faculty Learning and Teaching Development Fund

This fund provides financial support to teaching-stream faculty who seek to participate in a range of professional development activities related to the scholarship of teaching and learning including, but not limited to, attending academic conferences, engaging in research, and making scholarly presentations. Funding is for professional development activities occurring within six (6) months before or twelve (12) months after the application deadline.

Due date for this application will be March 31st each year.

Continuing Sessional Lecturer Fund

This fund provides financial supports for the professional development of Sessional Lecturers designated in their appointment as Continuing by Human Resources at UVic.

Adjudicaton of applications now occurs on a monthly basis. Applications can be submitted at any time.

Term Sessional Lecturer Fund

This fund provides financial support for the professional development of Term Sessional Lecturers at UVic. Funds are available on a first-come first-reviewed basis. Funds will be allocated as resources permit from the start of each fiscal year (April 1st). Funding is for professional development activities occurring within six (6) months before or twelve (12) months after the application deadline.

Call for applications are usually sent out in the Spring.
