Import/Export/Copy Components is a tool that is used to help with various aspects of a course, more specifically, course content. Some of the features that are used to move course components include copying, importing, and exporting different materials.

What can I do with the Import/Export/Copy Components tool?

This tool allows users to import content into their course sites or export elements they have created to be used in a different course page. It serves as a means to transport content between different course pages. Note that this tool is dependent on the access level a user has in a given course site. The Import/Export/Copy option will only be available if you are enrolled either as an instructor or supplemental instructor in a course.

Import Course Components

Insert varied course materials from within Brightspace and other learning management systems into your course page. There are two different ways to import content into a course page, through a course package or through the learning repository. The following list includes the platforms from which content can be imported:

    • Angel Learning 8

    • QTI 1.2, QTI 2.1 (Partial)
    • SCORM 1.2 & 2004

Export Course Components

Export different materials within a course into a file package that can be transferred to another course in Brightspace, to another learning management system, or for future uses. There are three different ways to export a package in Brightspace:

    • Export as a Brightspace package
    • Export as a Common Cartridge
    • Export as a Thin Common Cartridge

Copy Course Components

Transfer different course materials from one existing course to another with the copying function. The type of content that can be transferred to another course/section includes quizzes, grade content, assignments, etc. This can include either partial components of a course or the entire course itself.
