About

The UVic Generative AI (GenAI) Teaching and Learning Community of Practice (CoP) exists to foster a collaborative environment where faculty, instructors, and staff can share knowledge, develop skills, and innovate in the field of GenAI . Our community aims to provide support to appropriately integrate GenAI into pedagogical strategies, explore practical applications, and uphold ethical standards to enhance learning and teaching experiences at the University of Victoria.

Objectives

Create a cross-discipline community of UVic instructors and staff engaged in GenAI in pedagogy and access-centered learning

Provide a platform for communication, relationship building, and learning about GenAI in post-secondary education

Share knowledge, ideas, experiences, resources, and innovative practices related to GenAI in teaching and learning

Support UVic’s Digital Learning Plan and Accessibility Plan, as well as any future UVic GenAI plans or mandates

Promote digital literacy and equity in the use of GenAI technologies

Foster ethical use and academic integrity in the application of GenAI in teaching and learning

Scope

The scope of the UVic GenAI Teaching and Learning Community of Practice is specifically focused on the integration and impact of GenAI on teaching and learning at the University of Victoria. This includes:
