Why Use Quizzes for Evaluating?
Providing Feedback
- Instructors can provide feedback to all students at once by publishing feedback given on a quiz. If for any reason there is an error in the feedback published, the feedback can be retracted.
- When providing feedback to the students, instructors have the option to selectively choose what to include in the feedback (e.g., only grades, entire questions, or just the answers to questions students got wrong).
Different Ways to Evaluate
- As an instructor, there are three different ways to evaluate a quiz within the Quizzes Tool:
- Grading by Users: Evaluate the selected quiz by going through the class list alphabetically (by first or last name available).
- Grading by Attempts: Evaluate the selected quiz by the order of the attempts that are completed.
- Grading by Questions: Evaluate all the attempts on a single question before moving onto the next question.
Automatic Marking
- While creating a quiz in Brightspace, instructors have multiple options to choose from for building their questions. With certain types of questions like multiple-choice, true/false, matching, and short answer, Brightspace can automatically mark the questions for you.
Viewing User Statistics
- While using the Quizzes tool, instructors have the option to see the overall statistics associated with all the quizzes created in their Brightspace course.
