Why Use the Quiz Tool in Brightspace?

 Create, Edit and Manage Quizzes

• From unit quizzes to exams, the Brightspace Quiz tool allows instructors to create quizzes and use comprehensive options such as start and end dates, duration, restrictions, and visibility. Moreover, a quiz can be linked to a grade item in the grade book, which will be automatically populated once the quiz is graded.
• Instructors can edit a quiz should they find any errors in its content or setup. Minor changes are available even when there are user attempts.
• For improved navigation and organization, quizzes can be grouped into categories that represent a set of activities in a course, such as Unit Quizzes, In-class Activities, or Exams.

Add, Edit and Manage Questions

• When making a quiz, instructors can create their questions from a variety of pre-defined question types, adjust the number of marks associated with them, or decide to make any of them a bonus question. Instructors can later edit the content of a question, change its type or marks, or delete it. New questions can be easily added to an existing quiz.

Provide Accommodation to Students

• The Brightspace Quiz tool allows instructors to provide accommodations to students such as adding extra time and number of attempts, extending quiz dates, or exempting students from a quiz.
• Instructors are also able to choose whether to make a quiz available to all learners in a class but grant special access to certain students; or they can make a quiz visible to specific users only.
