As the Senior Teaching Assistant Consultant here in the Division of Learning and Teaching Support and Innovation Sajib is dedicated to supporting Teaching Assistants’ success.
Throughout 2024-25 Sajib will offer workshops, host events, and develop resources to help TAs refine their teaching and learning skills.

About Sajib
Sajib is a PhD candidate in Linguistics at UVic, focusing on Phonology with a special emphasis on Bangla, his mother tongue. Before moving to Victoria, he completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English and a Master of Arts in English and Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching at Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh.
He has worked as a sessional instructor for the Academic and Technical Writing Program at UVic and have a keen interest in technology-oriented teaching and learning strategies. Outside of his PhD research, he enjoys travelling and exploring the outdoors, especially mountains and deserts.
Sajib's Teaching Philosophy
His teaching philosophy centres on creating dynamic, inclusive, and supportive learning environments that empower students to excel both academically and personally. He believe in fostering learner autonomy, encouraging collaborative learning, and using assessment as a tool for growth.
