Third Party Tools
Third-party applications could be used with care for student privacy
Instructors have reported using Calendy and Simplybook. Here are important tips:
- Some apps offer integration with Outlook. Never provide your username and passphrase in order to integrate. Instead, block your office hours off in your Exchange Calender as busy.
- Limit the information you are asking from students (e.g. to name, email address, and course).
- Do not ask students to provide their Netlink ID to book an appointment.
- Most are situated outside of Canada. Inform students about this and provide an alternative.
