When creating a quiz, you have the option to “Allow attempt to be set as graded immediately upon completion”. If this feature is turned on, grades will be released to students as soon as they submit their quiz. When the setting is turned off, however, the results will not be shown immediately. This option is intended for quizzes that do not require manual grading of questions. Additionally, you can enable Brightspace to send the grades of quizzes that have been marked directly to the grade book.
1. Go to Course Tools at the top blue navigation bar and select Quizzes.
2. Select your quiz.
3. From the menu across the top, select the Assessment tab (this is the section where you set up how you would like the quiz to be graded by Brightspace).
4. Select Automatic Grade to have Brightspace automatically grade the quiz.
5. On the drop-down arrow beside Grade Item, select the Grade Item (from the Gradebook) that you want to link the quiz to.
6. Select Auto Export to Grades to have Brightspace automatically publish students’ grades.
Note: if you do not have a corresponding grade item created, you will have to create one through [add grade item].
