Why can’t my learners view their grades?

There are a few possibilities as to why a grade may not be visible to students.

  1. The quiz is not linked to the Gradebook. Please see how to link quizzes to the gradebook for more information.
  2. The assignment could be hidden for students within the Gradebook. To solve this, go to Grades and click Manage Grades. Find the assessment you wish to make visible. Click the downward arrow next to it and click Make visible to users. If you see the option to Hide from users, the assignment is already visible and this is not the issue.
  3. If the quiz is both linked to and visible in the Gradebook, the grades and feedback may have been saved as a draft. To publish grades, go to Quick Eval and hover over the activity of interest. Click More Actions and then Publish All to make grades available to students. To publish grades directly from a quiz, see how to publish quiz grades for more information.
  4. For assignments, grades can be published using Quick Eval using the instructions outlined for quizzes above. Alternatively, you can go to Assignments under Course Tools and click on the assignment of interest. You will see a list of students with their submissions. Check the top left box next  to “First Name, Last Name” to select all the students in the class and click Publish Feedback. This will publish the feedback for all the students if they have been graded, both in the Assignments tab and the Gradebook.
