How do I re-use a site every term as a template?

Brightspace, Help

If you would like to create and organize content for a specific course, it may be helpful to create a master course site.  A master course site is a dedicated playspace site that you can use to tailor and facilitate the copying/importing/exporting of content. Requests for master course sites can be sent to ltsisupport@uvic.ca. Your department/organization may already have master course site templates available to help build out your course, so be sure to check with them.

Instructors may transfer content from their playspace/master course site into a credit-bearing Brightspace course site as long as they are enrolled as an instructor in both course sites. To reuse the content in your playspace or master course site, follow the instructions found at How do I import/export/copy components from one Brightspace course to another?

Please note that a playspace:

  • Is not tied to Banner (i.e., the primary system of record for the University of Victoria); therefore, no students or other users are enrolled into this course.
  • Is not deleted except upon the request of the instructor or when the instructor is no longer employed at UVic.
